We care, so We Share!

“Fruitti Tutti” has a ring to it and emanates the sensation of happiness, which is exactly what Gulf’s team set out to bring about at “The Just Because Foundation Kiddi K 10” event, which took place on Saturday 29th April, 2017, at the Hasley Crawford Stadium, Trinidad and Tobago.

Often enough as we mosey through our daily routines, we forget that we have a moral responsibility to assist those in need, through various acts of kindness.  Fortunately, many of us are enjoying the benefits of a healthy body now, however, this can change in the twinkling of an eye, instantly placing us in the same situation.   The good news is that there are people who have devoted their lives to doing more. The Just Because Foundation is one such foundation that does just this for children with Cancer.

“The Just Because Foundation” Kiddi K 10, 2017 was themed Superheroes, Angels and Survivors.  The foundation is an incorporated, non-profit, Paediatric Cancer Support Organization in Trinidad & Tobago.  The foundation was established by Noel and Chevaughn Joseph who, after a tenacious two-year battle, lost their 5 1/2 year old son Jabez “JB” Joseph to Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer.

The foundation was established to provide family care services to families of children with cancer who need emotional, practical and social support. The cornerstone of the foundation is to offer hope, support and compassion and provide care for children with cancer. Some of the services offered to families include short term housing to families coming from remote areas in Trinidad and Tobago and from other Caribbean countries, plus social support services for all family members.

Kiddi K 10 started at 10:00 a.m. with a number local entities hosting fun activities and providing lots of giveaways. There were also free health care screening facilities for patrons on the day.

Once again, we would set up our signature booth “Gulf Fruitti Tutties” which was strategically placed at the start and finish line, to refresh patrons and the walkathon participants with fresh cool slices of watermelon, portions of pineapple and apples.  Members of staff Yvette Rehead,  Annalise Byer, Arouna Roopnarine, Oswin Hosang and Lisa Hudson were there on the day to support the cause. Congratulations go Ms. Yvette Rehead was our lone participant that represented Gulf Insurance Limited in the walkathon.  Woo Hoos! go out to Ms. Yvette Rehead our lone participant in the walkathon.

The day was fun, fun, fun although Trinidad and Tobago have been under a hot spell watch for the last couple of days, but having the cooled fruits were quite delightful and refreshing to all who partook of our offering.  Patrons were appreciative of Gulf’s contribution to Kiddi K 10 as can be seen in the memories captured on the day.

We care, so We Share!

Let us remember that we too can make difference in the little or big things we do when we help others.

Gulf means Insurance.
